WSC Wins Borough Championship

It was another outstanding weekend for Wandsworth swimmers, with WSC securing the Borough Championship title in a closely fought tussle with Leander Swimming Club.

In what was a very evenly matched competition, held in a spirit of friendly rivalry, WSC pulled out all the stops to emerge victorious by a final margin of 782 points to Leander’s 732, with Battersea Jacks Swimming Club taking third place.

Wandsworth swimmers broke 18 Borough records including one medley relay team record.

Congratulations to everyone who took part, from the youngest 9 year olds to the ’20-somethings’. It was a wonderful team effort, ably assisted by our coaching staff of Marina, Kamila, Milton and Craig, and encouraged by rapturous applause from supporting parents and friends in the balcony.

A huge thank you to all swimmers, coaches and officials.

The results can be found below:

Details of the competition can be found in the Promoter's Conditions (shows eligibility criteria)

The Wandsworth Borough Championships is an important gala for the club and fosters good relationships with our fellow competitive swimming clubs in Wandsworth and supports the Wandsworth Borough Council's sport for all initiatives.  This gala is the target gala for our Borough Pathway swimmers and we expect all to enter who meet the qualifying criteria.
