Performance Pathways
Wandsworth SC swimmers are divided among eight squads based on criteria including ability, times achieved and age as at 31 Dec.
Our Performance Pathways are all-inclusive and have been created so each swimmer can continue a swimming pathway to suit their lifestyle and commitment to the sport.
Our High-Performance Pathway is open to those swimmers who, display the appropriate work ethic, meet the competitive criteria, make the required commitment to training and competition, and demonstrate a serious attitude required to become a top swimmer.
Swimming at this level becomes a “lifestyle” choice. Invitation into and continued membership of the Performance Squads are seen as a privilege and not an automatic right. As a result of the Club’s ongoing success and the ever-increasing demand for places within our Performance Squads, criteria for membership continues to be refined.
Our Competitive Development pathway is aimed at age group swimmers who want to continue to train and compete but who cannot commit to the levels of training and racing performance required in the High-Performance Pathway squads, or swimmers who are late developers.
