Well done to Edward Henwood for – firstly – being selected to represent Team London at the ESSA Inter – Divisional Championships held last weekend in Coventry and – secondly – for winning two silver medals in 100 and 200 butterfly events in new Club Records ( Long Course ) times of 59.65 and 2.14.03 respectively !

An outstanding performance from our swimmers to end the Surrey County Championships during 2nd weekend of racing at Surrey Sports Park , Guildford – Sat 3rd / Sun 4th February .

Edward Henwood won two Junior Trophies – for his spectacular wins in the boys 15 years age group 100 and 200 butterfly events !

Alessandro Yu Spagnolo finished overall 2nd in the boys 10/11 years age group !

Both Edward and Alessandro also set new Club Records :
Edward in 50 freestyle in a time of 26.26 and 50 backstroke in a time of 29.43 ( 14 years age group ) and Alessandro in 100 butterfly in a time of 1.35.84 ( 10 years age group ) .

Three additional Club Records have been set by :
Max Sochovsky ( 15 years age group ) in 50 and 100 backstroke events in times of 30.93 and 1.05.30 respectively
Alexander Virgile ( 17 & over age group ) in 800 freestyle in a time of 9.23.11.

We have added 9 more medals to the overall tally of 17 : 3 Gold – 3 Silver – 3 Bronze
The medallists are :
Gold – Samuel Liau ( 12 years age group ) – 50 back in a time of 33.89
Edward Henwood ( 15 years age group ) – 100 and 200 butterfly in times of 1.00.74

There were plenty of top 8 finishes for our swimmers showing the quality and extremely high level of performance within our club .
Our boys finished in the 6th place overall – which is an amazing performance from them !!!

Our swimmers got off to a very promising start at the Surrey County Age Group Championships held at Surrey Sports Park , Guildford last weekend 20 / 21 January .
Two new Club Records were set – both in 50 fly event Long Course : Alessandro Yu Spagnolo in the 10 years age group in a time of 36.71 and Edward Henwood in the 14 years age group in a time of 27.70 .

We won eight medals – 1 Gold – 1 Silver – 6 Bronze ; the medallists are :
Gold – Edward Henwood ( 15 years age group ) – 50 fly in a new Club Record Time of 27.70

Silver – Max Sochovsky ( 15 years age group ) – 400 freestyle in a time of 4.27.45

Bronze – Max Sochovsky ( 15 years age group ) – 200 freestyle in a time of 2.06.10 and 200 backstroke in a time of 2.21.88
Evan Sochovsky ( 13 years age group ) – 100 backstroke in a time of 1.16.80
Alessandro Yu Spagnolo ( 10/11 years age group ) – 400 freestyle in a time of 5.55.11
Luke Curle ( 15 years age group ) – 1500 freestyle in a time of 18.28.58

Well done to all swimmers who competed at the Sutton & Cheam Last Chance County Qualifier meet and the S&C Santa’s Splash & Dash meets held at Westcroft Leisure Centre over last weekend 16 / 17 December .

Isis Ciurleo set new Club Record in the 17&over 200 butterfly event in a time of 2.29.53 !

Our swimmers won a total of 83 medals over the two day meets :
38 Gold – 30 Silver – 15 Bronze ,
clocked nearly 160 new PBs and gained many Surrey Qualifying Times for the County Championships which will be taking place in January and February 2024 at Surrey Sports Park .

With just one more meet to go before the Surreys we are absolutely certain that our swimmers have now got all the confidence and desire to keep up the good work before we take some time off for Christmas break .

Well done to Oliver Cunningham ( 17& over age group ) and Luke Curle ( 13 years age group ) for setting two new Club Records in 50 backstroke and 800 freestyle events respectively in times of 27.85 and 9.14.74 !

The records were topped up with three medals :
Luke Curle – Silver in 800 freestyle
Edward Henwood – Silver in 100 butterfly
Oliver Cunningham – Bronze in 200 backstroke

Small – but very strong – group of our Performance swimmers : Isis Ciurleo , Astrid Facius , Edward Henwood , Max Sochovsky , George Harvey , Oliver Cunningham and Virgile Alexandre competed at the Swim England London Region Winter Championships held over last weekend 4/5th November at London Aquatic Centre , Stratford .
The Winter Championships is split into only two age groups – Junior ( 16&Under ) and Senior ( 17&over ) making it a prestigious meet for London swimmers .
Huge congratulations to Astrid Facius ( 14 years ) for winning 2 gold medals in the Girls Junior 50 and 100m backstroke events in new Club Records outstanding times of 29.52 and 1.03.98 respectively !!!
Three more Club Records were broken by Edward Henwood ( 14 years ) in the following events :
50 butterfly in a time of 27.58
50 backstroke 29.84
100 butterfly 1.00.78
