Three new Club Records and 45 medals at NUEL meet .

Well done to all swimmers who competed last weekend at the very first open meet of the season – the NUEL Early County Qualifier meet held at London Aquatics Centre , Stratford .
Three new Club Records were set :
Two by Oliver Cunningham in the boys 16 years age group 50 and 100 backstroke events in times of 28.77 and 1.00.98 respectively
One by Edward Henwood in the boys 14 years age group 50 backstroke event in a time of 30.12.
Our swimmers won 45 medals overall : 17 Gold – 19 Silver – 9 Bronze .
The 14 year old boys have – once again – proven to be a force to be reckoned with by coming 1st – Edward Henwood , 2nd – Max Sochovsky , and 3rd – George Harvey in 100 backstroke as well as coming 1st – Edward Henwood and 2nd – George Harvey with Max narrowly missing out on the 3rd place in the 200 backstroke events .
Rahul Bansal and Pietro Marzeglia also came 1st and 2nd in 200 backstroke in the 13 years age group.
Huge congratulations to one of our youngest competitors – Can Tetik – who made a clean sweep in the 50 , 100 , and 200 breaststroke events in the boys 9 years old age group !

Oliver Cunningham ( 16 years ) : 3 Gold
Can Tetik ( 9 years ) : 3 Gold
Luke Curle ( 13 years ) : 2 Gold

Rahul Bansal ( 13 years ) : 1 Gold and 3 Silver
George Harvey ( 14 years ) : 1 Gold – 1 Silver – 2 Bronze
Lena Jovanovic ( 11 years ) : 1 Gold – 1 Silver – 1 Bronze
Max Sochovsky ( 14 years ) : 3 Silver
Alessandro Yu Spagnolo ( 10 years ) : 2 Silver – 1 Bronze

2 new Club Records , 54 medals , 131 PB’s – Sutton & Cheam Summertime Splash results

Well done to all swimmers who competed at the Sutton & Cheam Summertime Splash held at Westcroft Leisure Centre last weekend 15 / 16 July .
As usual our swimmers did not disappoint !
2 new Club Records , 54 medals : 18 Gold – 15 Silver – 21 Bronze and 131 PB’s were the overall results following some fast swimming and more than few impressive performances from the swimmers below :
Edward Henwood ( 14 years age group – Junior Performance 2 squad ) set 2 new Club Records – in 100 butterfly in a time of 1.02.01 and in 50 backstroke in a time of 30.22 and single – handedly won 8 medals : 7 Gold and 1 Silver – a perfect preparations for the Swim England National Summer Meet in Sheffield in two weeks time !
Rahul Bansal ( 13 years age group – Junior Performance 2 squad ) – 7 medals : 3 Gold – 2 Silver – 2 Bronze
Can Tetik ( 9 years age group – Development 2 squad ) – 7 medals : 2 Gold – 2 Silver – 3 Gold
Bastiano Atti ( 14 years age group – Junior Performance 2 squad ) – 6 medals : 1 Gold and 5 Bronze
Alex Filyov ( 13 years age group – Junior Performance 2 squad ) – 3 medals : 2 Gold and 1 Silver
George Harvey ( 14 years age group – Junior Performance 2 squad ) – 3 medals : 1 Gold – 1 Silver – 1 Bronze
Noah Hagberg ( 16&over age group – Senior Development squad ) – 3 medals : 1 Gold and 2 Silver
Alex Leuth ( 10 years age group – Junior Performance 1 squad ) – 4 medals : 3 Silver and 1 Bronze
Pietro Marzeglia ( 13 years age group – Junior Performance 2 squad ) – 3 medals : all Bronze
Benjamin Gussago ( 10 years age group – Development 2 squad ) – 2 medals : both Bronze
Single medals went to : Luke Curle – Gold in 200 freestyle ( 14 years age group ) , Declan Martin – Silver in 100 breaststroke ( 10 years age group ) , Millicent Baumann – Silver in 100 breaststroke ( 9 years age group ) , Freya Rosengren Harper – Tee – Silver in 200 backstroke ( 12 years age group ) , Zeynep Kaplan – Bronze in 100 breaststroke ( 9 years age group ) and Emma Gordon – Bronze in 50 freestyle ( 12 years age group ) .
The hard work of the past months has paid off !

SE London Summer Championships – 2nd weekend update

Two more medals and one new Club Record were added to the Club’s overall tally following 2nd and final weekend of the SE London Summer Championships held at London Aquatic Centre over the May Bank Holiday weekend – Sat 29th April – Mon 1st May .
Huge congratulations to Edward Henwood ( 14 years age group ) for not only breaking yet another Club Record – this time in 50 backstroke event in a time of 30.38 but also for winning two bronze medals – in the 100 butterfly in an excellent time of 1.02.50 and the previously mentioned 50 backstroke as well as narrowly missing two more medals by finishing fourth – in 100 freestyle ( in a time of 59.60 ) and 50 butterfly ( in a time of 28.36 ) events .
Well done Edward and everyone who raced over the two long weekends !

SE London Summer Championships – 1st weekend update

Well done to WSC swimmers who competed at the SE London Summer Championships held at K2 Crawley last weekend .
Edward Henwood ( 14 years age group ) won our only medal of the competition so far – a silver in 200 butterfly event .
Two new Club Records were set – both in 100 backstroke event – by Oliver Cunningham in the 16 years age group in a time of 1.04.31 and by Giles Cunningham in the 17&over age group in a time of 1.01.81.
Our finalists were :
Edward Henwood ( 14 years ) – in all entered events : 100 and 200 backstroke , 200 freestyle , 200 butterfly
Max Sochovsky ( 14 years ) – also in all entered events : 200 freestyle , 100 and 200 backstroke
Rahul Bansal ( 13 years ) – in 200 butterfly
Giles Cunningham ( 17&over ) – in 100 backstroke
Huge congratulations to the boys and the very best of luck this weekend !!! We are heading to London Aquatic Centre to race in all remaining events !
