Two more medals and one new Club Record were added to the Club’s overall tally following 2nd and final weekend of the SE London Summer Championships held at London Aquatic Centre over the May Bank Holiday weekend – Sat 29th April – Mon 1st May .
Huge congratulations to Edward Henwood ( 14 years age group ) for not only breaking yet another Club Record – this time in 50 backstroke event in a time of 30.38 but also for winning two bronze medals – in the 100 butterfly in an excellent time of 1.02.50 and the previously mentioned 50 backstroke as well as narrowly missing two more medals by finishing fourth – in 100 freestyle ( in a time of 59.60 ) and 50 butterfly ( in a time of 28.36 ) events .
Well done Edward and everyone who raced over the two long weekends !

Well done to WSC swimmers who competed at the SE London Summer Championships held at K2 Crawley last weekend .
Edward Henwood ( 14 years age group ) won our only medal of the competition so far – a silver in 200 butterfly event .
Two new Club Records were set – both in 100 backstroke event – by Oliver Cunningham in the 16 years age group in a time of 1.04.31 and by Giles Cunningham in the 17&over age group in a time of 1.01.81.
Our finalists were :
Edward Henwood ( 14 years ) – in all entered events : 100 and 200 backstroke , 200 freestyle , 200 butterfly
Max Sochovsky ( 14 years ) – also in all entered events : 200 freestyle , 100 and 200 backstroke
Rahul Bansal ( 13 years ) – in 200 butterfly
Giles Cunningham ( 17&over ) – in 100 backstroke

Well done to small group of our Performance squads swimmers who competed at the NUEL SC National Qualifier Open meet held at London Aquatic Centre first weekend of April .
14 medals : 6 Gold – 6 Silver – 2 Bronze and 6 new Club Records were the overall success tally of the meet .
The new Club Records have been set by :
Giles Cunningham ( 17&over age group ) in a 50 and 100m backstroke events in times of 28.70 and 1.02.72 respectively
Oliver Cunningham ( 16 years ) also in a 50 and 100m backstroke events in times of 29.96 and 1.05.24 respectively
Virgile Alexandre ( 16 years ) in 200m freestyle in a time of 2.02.91
Edward Henwood ( 14 years ) in 50m backstroke in a time of 30.72 ; on top breaking this Club Record Edward won 8 medals – 4 GOLD : in all backstroke events – the 50 , the 100 and the 200m as well as in 100 butterfly , 3 SILVER : in 50 and 200m butterfly and 400m freestyle , 1 BRONZE in 200IM .
Our other multiple medallists were Ernie Hill who won both the 800 and the 1500m freestyle in the 14 years age group and Virgile Alexandre who won 3 silvers in the 200 , 400 and 1500m freestyle in the 16 years age group .

Over 30 WSC swimmers from different training squads competed at the Saxon Crown Spring’s Challenge last weekend 18/19 March held at the Glass Mill Leisure Centre in Lewisham .
141 new PB’s , 50 medals : 19 Gold – 14 Silver – 17 Bronze and many fast swims with some outstanding performances were the overall tally of the racing weekend .
Special mention goes to Evan Sochovsky – from Junior Performance 1 squad – for winning 9 medals : 6 Gold – 1 Silver – 2 Bronze in the girls 11 years old age group !

The new Club Records have been set by :
Giles Cunningham ( 17 & over age group ) – 50m backstroke in a time of 28.83 and 100m backstroke in a time of 1.02.09.
Edward Henwood ( 14 years age group ) – 50m backstroke in a time of 31.29.
Special mentioning must go to Edward who single – handedly added 4 medals to the club’s success – two Gold – in the 100m and 200m butterfly events in excellent times of 1.04.17 and 2.21.89 respectively as well as two Bronze – in 50 backstroke and 400 Individual Medley .
Our last medal was won by Rahul Bansal – a fantastic silver in the boys 13 years age group 200 butterfly.
Both Edward and Rahul also finished in the top 8 in all of their entered events !
More finals places came from :
Ginevra Longo ( 11 years age group ) – 5th in 200 backstroke
Giles Cunningham ( 17 & over age group ) – 7th in the 50m and 8th in the 100m backstroke events
